"As human beings, we have to help each other, you know?"~ Mohamed Bzeek

The Art of a Happy Heart believes it is so very important to give back LOVE & JOY to the world in any way you can!

Steve & Hope Dezember are spirit friends of mine and they are rays of sunshine in the world! In August of 2011, Steve was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. His wife, Hope is the love of his life and the most amazing caregiver to Steve.

Even though life has given them extraordinary obstacles, they never let it get them down for long. They continually find ways to seek joy and happiness everyday, always inspiring us with their DRIVE and perspective on life; to live everyday to the fullest and spread love into the world and together their love and light shines so brightly!

You can support HopeforSteve and ALS through donations at HopeforSteve.com or by purchasing their amazing art work! Steve is an artist who finds his inspiration from his inner DRIVE and turns that into incredible abstract paintings using his wheelchair!  His love, Hope is an artist full of positive energy which she infuses into the most beautiful mala necklaces and art work to inspire your journey! It is a beautiful thing to witness them using their creative fire to empower themselves and others around the world!

So please, visit their website, or leave a love note of support on their Facebook page HopeforSteve, or if you can, support their art or make a donation to help them in the fight! Our goal is to bring awareness and fight for a cure! Together, we will beat ALS!

"ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that is characterized by rapidly progressive weakness, muscle atrophy and fasciculations, muscle spasticity, difficulty speaking, difficulty swallowing, and decline in breathing ability. We want to spread awareness and most importantly HOPE for all those diagnosed with this horrible condition."~ Hope Dezember
